Huntington Beach is the largest beach city in Orange County in terms of population. In 2010 the census was at 189,992. It has miles of pristine beaches and is bordered by Newport Beach on the southeast and Seal Beach on the northeast. The downtown area has an active art center and shopping district with the International Surfing Museum. The Golden Bear, a fine dining restaurant and nightclub, was located downtown from 1929 to 1986 with many popular artists and entertainers performing there.

Many activies and event in Huntington Beach are focused around the beach during the summer including the U.S. Open of Surfing, Fourth of July parade (since 1904), car shows and a biathlon. It has consistently received recognition for being one of the best vacation destinations in the U.S., largly due to the comfortable climate throughout the year with temperatures that rarely get above 90 degrees and very little rainfall.
